Origin, Principles & Applications of Satyagraha and the 4-Way Test Yes, everybody agrees that Gandhi was one of the most remarkable persons of the 20th Century and anyone who has read Gandhi's biography or done any research on him would tell you that the key to his phenomenal success and growth lied in his discovery and faithful practice of the unique technique which he called Satyagraha.

And the main reason of Rotary International's phenomenal growth and popularity is due to the organization's strict adherence to its main principles, the 4-Way Test & Service above Self. Every new member is introduced to these two principles and at every meeting every member is constantly urged to practice them. And yet, it is astonishing to find that very few Rotarians truly know the origin of the 4-Way Test principle!

Comparison: Satyagraha and the 4-Way Test This talk not only provides a brief account of the origin of the 4-Way Test but also emphasizes that a sincere practice of the 4-Way Test will make you a better parent, a better citizen and a better human being. It is not a price that you must pay for joining the Rotary International (as most Rotarians think) but a blessing and a precious gift for enriching both your business and personal lives.
