The Core Message	Peace is Possible
Gandhi and Rotary	Gandhi knew Rotary, and had met many Rotarians and also spoken at some of the Rotary programs. On request, Gandhi wrote an article, My 7 points for a new world order, which appeared in the February 1942 issue of the Rotarian magazine. That article was included in The Rotarian Reader, published in 1986, which contains the most precious articles published in Rotarian magazines during the first 75 years of its publication (1911-1986). Gandhi's picture appeared on the Cover Page of the book And there is a remarkable similarity in the ways that Rotary's 4 Way Test and Gandhi's Satyagraha were conceived and applied; as well as between Rotary's Motto of Service Above Self and Gandhi's Mission in life of Helping the Helpless.

The Messenger	Shall in the Character of Mahatma Gandhi Shall Sinha is a leading scholar on the Life and Work of Mahatma Gandhi and in costume he carries a remarkable resemblance with the Mahatma. He appears with bald-head, wearing loin-clothes, steel-rimmed glasses, tire sandals and walking with a banboo cane. Most members of the sudience feel that Gandhi himself was there to speak to them on that particular occasion. The audience feels some kind of reverence and pay particular attention to the words that are said at that time. The event becomes a special attraction for the media and generates a good coverage.
The Messenger's Partner	Pramila Sinha Pramila assists in make-up preparation and in coordinating with different actors of the event. She has worked in Sri Lanka as a Peace Worker for more than 2 years, has served as an International Monitor for 2 elections in Sri Lanka and one Political Demostration in Maldives and has extensive experience as Front Line Support for Battered Women, Youths, and the Elderly.
